Nancy Drew Box Set

Image
A fun Nancy Drew box set. I recently bought this wonderful box set of paperback Nancy Drew books on Australia eBay. The books were published by Armada in the 1980s. I do not generally focus on collecting box sets. However, this one was affordably priced, and I like these 1980s Nancy Drew books. Here are a few more pictures of the box: One side of the box. The other side of the box. The back of the box. The front of the box. And here are some pictures of the books that came in the box: The front covers of the books. The backs of the books. Note how two of the books are smaller in size and also have lower numbers. I wonder if these two books were switched. If anyone else has this box set, let me know if you have the same books. I may collect some other box sets when I see them at good prices. I won't pay a premium for them, though. I will pay a premium for scarce or rare books that I really want for my collection, but not for box sets. They're just not my thing to collect, alth...

Nancy Drew Files Book Gift

Image
A surprise gift!  I received a lovely surprise in the mail today: an eBay seller sent me this Nancy Drew Files book as a gift. I have ordered a few books from this seller, and I'm sure that I'll order more in future. I love the cover art on this book, and the book is set in Maryland, where my mother grew up and where I still have family. Here's a view of the back of the book: The back of the book. It sounds like a fun book! I don't have many of the files books. I haven't focused on finding them, but I'll slowly work on collecting them as they come up for sale at good prices. I actually only have three out of the 124 files books, so I have a ways to go with my collection! Here are the three books that I have: Three files books.

Finally Posting Again... and a Newer Nancy Drew Book

Image
I haven't posted on this blog in awhile... the first few months of the year have been very busy! However, I have been buying some more great books (mostly online) recently, so I'll do a few posts over the next few weeks to share pictures of these books... and also of some of the other books in my collection. To start with, here's a lovely little book that arrived earlier this week: Front cover. Back cover. The book theme really appeals to me. I have fond memories of attending Renaissance fairs in the past. In particular, I remember visiting King Richard's Faire in Massachusetts with friends back when I was in graduate school. We used to dress up in costume and have great fun! I'm looking forward to reading this book. I'm still working my way through the Trixie Belden books, but I am taking breaks to read a few books in between. The cover art on this book is really lovely, too... I love the costumes the girls are wearing.

A Few Newer Nancy Drew Books

Image
A selection of newer Nancy Drew paperback books that I purchased recently. Recently, I decided to purchase a few newer (1980s to early 2000s) Nancy Drew paperback books. I'm mostly buying books that continue the original series (up to #175), but I couldn't resist buying one of the "Nancy Drew Files" books. I bought one with an intriguing cover and plot. I am mostly not interested in the files books. The silly romantic plots don't really appeal to me. However, I might read one here or there - and buy a few when the prices are good. I am interested in the newer paperback books that continue the original Nancy Drew series. I've read a few, and the stories can be quite good. These books are nostalgic for me. I remember buying some of them new in the 1990s and early 2000s. My mother would often buy me one of the books when we went to a bookshop that was located in the sane shopping centre where we did our grocery shopping. I will work on collecting the ...
